CJFH Holds Video Conference on COVID-19 with ISAR Clinic in Munich, Germany

On the afternoon of April 3, 2020, China-Japan Friendship Hospital (CJFH) and the ISAR Clinic in Germany held a video conference on COVID-19, where Dr. Sun Yang, President of CJFH, Dr. Cao Bin, Vice President of the hospital, Dr. Lu Qingjun, who works as deputy director of Medical Affairs and head of Telemedicine Center, Dr. Dai Huaping, chair of Division 3 of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine (PCCM), Dr. Duan Jun, vice chair of Surgical ICU and Ms. Zhao Peiyu, senior nursing manager were present. On the other side of the internet were Prof. Eckhard Alt, Founder and President of ISAR Klinikum, Dr. Andreas Arbogast, CEO of the clinic, Dr. Alexander Leber, head of ISAR Institute of Cardiology, Dr. Peter Lackermeier and Dr. Christopher Mueller, directors of ISAR Anesthesiology/Critical Care Medicine and Dr. Oliver Wolf, chair of Cardiovascular Surgery. 
 
Dr. Sun expressed CJFH's willingness to work together with the ISAR Clinic and to provide technical assistance within its capacity as the virus was spreading rapidly around the world. Dr. Cao elaborated on the experience of CJFH's medical team in Wuhan while Dr. Duan focused on the treatment of severely and critically ill patients with COVID-19. The two sides also exchanged views on the questions put forward in the article titled Virological assessment of hospitalized patients with COVID-2019 published by Nature.  Dr. Alt thanked experts from CJFH for the information they shared at the time when the number of confirmed COVID-19 patients spiked in Germany. He also expressed his willingness to join forces with CJFH in research and data sharing.
 
As one of CJFH’s international partners, ISAR Clinic is the clinical training center of the Munich University in Germany. In February, Dr. Eckhard Alt sent a video message to CJFH, in which he highly acknowledged the hospita's contribution to the prevention and control of the epidemic in China. He also donated 500 sets of PPE to CJFH.
