On December 20, 2019, the 2nd Aviation Medical Rescue Summit Forum and the 1st Aviation Medical Rescue Case Seminar were successfully held at China-Japan Friendship Hospital (CJFH).

The development of China’s aviation medical rescue system is still in its infancy. How to build a professional and standardized aviation medical rescue system, how to train high-quality professional medical teams, and how to improve the efficiency and level of domestic/international aviation medical emergency rescue operationshave become the bottleneck restricting the development of aviation medical rescue in China. The National Aviation Medical Rescue Team, which is based on the CJFH’s National Emergency Medical Rescue Team, has been conducting aviation medical rescue cooperation with Beijing 999 Emergency Rescue Center, Kingwing General Aviation, International SOS and others, and gradually established and perfected the air-ground integrated medical green channelin continuous exploration.

Previously, in order to carry out the Implementation Program for Joint Pilot Work on Aviation Medical Rescue (CAAC [2019] No. 17) jointly issued by Civil Aviation Administration of China and the National Health Commission, China Association for Disaster and Emergency Rescue Medicine has entrusted CJFH, Beijing 999 Emergency Rescue Center, Asia Pacific Navigation (Beijing) Emergency Rescue Service Co., Ltd. and other medical institutions to hold several national aviation medical rescue training courses, training a large number of professionals for aviation medical rescue in China.

In order to strengthen the training effect, exchange practical experience, further standardize and promote the development of aviation medical rescue in China, and make preparations for the Winter Olympics Games, the Medical Department and the Surgery Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of CJFH jointly sponsored the 2nd Aviation Medical Rescue Summit Forum and the 1st Aviation Medical Rescue Case Seminar. More than 50 students from hospitals across the country and members of CJFH’s aviation medical rescue team attended the meeting.

Liu Peng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of CJFH, made opening remarks before Yang Feng, Deputy Director-General of Health Emergency Office at the National Health Commission, delivered a keynote speech on The Development of Aviation Medical Rescue in China.

Ma Shengkui, Vice President of 999 Emergency Rescue Center, and Sun Wei, from theMedical Department made keynote speeches on the Status and Development of Aviation Medical Rescue in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei and the Exploration and Practice of Aviation Medical Rescue in CJFH respectively.

The forum also invited domestic medical institutions with extensive experience in aviation medical rescue practice, including 999 Emergency Rescue Center, National SOS, and SICU of CJFH. Three practical cases were selected from different conditions and rescue characteristics. The experts and participants had a full discussion on the cases and summarized their experiences, and everyone benefited a lot.

Under the future-oriented coordination of the hospital leadership, CJFH has so far completed 67 cases of air transshipment. Taking the opportunity of the Aviation Medical Rescue Summit Forum and Case Seminar, we have accumulated experience and trained aviation medical rescue team members, and we look forward to playing the pioneering role of our hospital in aviation medical rescue.
