CJFH Unveiled New Inpatient Area Consisting of Bariatric Surgery and Dermatology

On February 18, 2019, the new inpatient area consisting of the Bariatric Surgery and Dermatology was officially opened at China-Japan Friendship Hospital (CJFH) where patients who have bariatric surgery or are suffering from skin diseases would be admitted.
 
At the opening ceremony, Dr. Sun Yang, President of CJFH, extended his gratitude to the joint efforts of those from the Medical Affairs, General Surgery, Dermatology and Nursing. He pointed that in medical service, the most important thing is to ensure the patients are satisfied and safe, especially for this new inpatient area where the treatment is relatively low risk and therefore do not allow any medical errors. Furthermore, Dr. Sun hopes that under the premise of ensuring medical quality and safety, the new inpatient area could make efforts in scientific research and teaching. Dr. Sun encouraged the new inpatient area to make achievements in disciple development based on the hospital's upcoming three-year plan on discipline development and continuously expand its influence.
 
Mrs. Ding Jinghong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, congratulated the new inpatient area on its opening and said the leadership will assist the two departments in business development, operation and performance management to improve their work quality and efficiency.
 
Dr. Liu Peng, Vice President of CJFH acknowledged the achievements made by the Bariatric Surgery Health Management Center in the past two years under the leadership of its director Meng Hua, who has helped improve both the quantity and quality of bariatric surgery. Mr. Liu hopes that the establishment of the new inpatient area could push the center to a higher level. He also acknowledged that the Dermatologist Department has made remarkable progress in discipline development in the past few years and hoped that the opening of the new inpatient area would enhance the scientific research and teaching work of this department.
 
The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr. Cui Yong, a chair  of the Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Department and head of the Scientific Research Division. Ms. Zhao Jing, Director of the Nursing , Prof. Yang Zhiying, Chair of the General Surgery, Prof. Meng Hua, Director of the Bariatric Surgery Health Management Center, and Dr. Yang Dingquan, vice chair of the Dermatology all delivered remarks.
 
The Bariatric Surgery Health Management Center led by Prof Meng adopts the multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment process, including the diabetes treatment by Prof Tan Yuanju's team from the Endocrinology, the bariatric surgery from the Surgery Department, and dietary adjustments by Dr. Shi Mai's team from the Nutrition Department. They have enhanced patient satisfaction by optimizing the treatment process and improving the clinic environment on top of medical quality and safety. The establishment of the new inpatient area is expected to further enhance the clinical service capacity of the hospital.
