Five specialists won the honorary title of "The Nation’s Eminent Doctor"

On 20th July, 2018, under the guidance of People's Daily general office, the second ceremony for the Nation’s Eminent Doctor sponsored by people.cn and Health Times was held in the headquarters of People's Daily. Five doctors of CJFH won this honorary title, they are: Professor Ling Bin, chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Professor Jia liqun, chair of Integrative Oncology, Professor Zhang Guoqiang, chair of Emergency department, Professor Wang Chuanhang, chair of Andrology and Dr. Lou Yanni from Integrative Oncology.   
 
With the theme of selecting exemplary physicians who can win public respect and promote the health of the people, this ceremony aimed at commending outstanding medical doctors with remarkable contributions to medical research, prominent clinical achievement and a great reputation. Winners of the awards were nominated and elected by the Chinese Medical Association, the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, various specialist branches of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and tertiary hospitals with the country’s top five departments. There are four honorary titles: Life Achievement Award, Monumental Achievement Award, Professional Demeanor Award, and Young Talent Award. 
 
CJFH leadership calls on medical professionals in the hospital to follow the example of the award winners by adhering to the professional ethics of "respecting life, healing the wounded and rescuing the dying, being willing to sacrifice, and demonstrating boundless love for patients". In terms of quality service, the medical staffs are expected to treat patients as their families, maintain enthusiasm, and be highly responsible; while in terms of innovation, it is hoped that they will always stay studious and diligent in medical exploration. While for the award winners, it is expected that they will remain modest and prudent, make redoubled efforts to make new contributions for clinical medicine and medical research as well as to advance the cause of health.
 
Under the guidance of the People's Daily general office, this project was co-sponsored by people.cn, Health Times, and 60 specialist branches of the Chinese Medical Association, Chinese Medical Doctor Association and the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association. Wu Mengchao, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the founding father of Chinese hepatobiliary surgery, was invited as the honorary chairman of the presidium of the academic committee. Co-chairs of the presidium include Wang Longde, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, Zhang Yanling, director of Chinese Medical Doctor Association and Ge Bo, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and chairperson of the cardiology branch of Chinese Medical Association. The academic committee consists of 76 members, including directors of various branches and specialist committees of the Chinese Medical Association and Chinese Medical Doctor Association, representatives of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, as well as presidents and academic leaders of selected tertiary hospitals. The responsibility of the academic committee is to formulate assessment criteria and procedures, as well as to organize nominations.
 
26 experts won the Life Achievement Awards, while 167 received Monumental Achievement Awards, 131 were given Professional Demeanor Awards, and 38 were granted Young Talent Awards.

Nation’s Eminent Doctors - Monumental Achievement Award
 
Basic requirements: above 55 (30 years of clinical experience); has been or is currently an executive of an authoritative medical organization, or leader of a national key discipline; outstanding achievements in clinical medicine with unique contributions; has established trade standards and promoted clinical development; has won provincial and ministerial awards; excellent performance in clinical medicine and professional achievements; quality publications in influential journals; great word-of-mouth among patients; active participation in medical dissemination. 
 
Winners of Monumental Achievement Awards in CJFH
 
Ling Bin
 
Born in November, 1962, Ling Bin is the director of obstetrics and gynecology department in CJFH, chairperson of the Reproductive Health Branch in the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, chair of the professional committee of Minimally-invasive and Noninvasive Medicine in Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and expert in guideline development of the national Thirteenth Five-Year Plan key projects 
 
Ling Bin is the first in the world to use linear tension-free suspension surgery to treat pelvic prolapse, which significantly reduced complications. Even before FDA issued a boxed warning against laparoscopic crushing of uterine leiomyoma, he pioneered in a protective device to prevent metastasis during laparoscopic surgery for crushing uterine tumors, which greatly reduced the risk of iatrogenic tumor metastasis.
 
Jia Liqun
 
Born in 1962, Professor Jia Liqun is the director of integrated Chinese and western medicine for oncology in CJFH, senior doctor and supervisor of PhD students. He is also the head of the State Key Clinical Department and chairperson of the Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine Branch in the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association.
 
Professor Jia Liqun has presided over six research projects on the national and provincial/ministerial level, established the technical system to prevent tumor complications by applying traditional Chinese medicine to external treatment, built up the clinical pathway for esophageal cancer, constructed a large-scale data platform of tongue pictures in areas with high incidence of esophageal cancer, and took the lead in initiating the national medical association of integrated Chinese and western medicine for oncology. He has delivered more than ten papers in international conferences on the prevention and treatment of cancer by integrating Chinese and western medicine, published about 100 academic articles and around a dozen of monographs, as well as won a total of six science and technology progress awards on the national and provincial/ministerial level. 
 
Zhang Guoqiang
 
Born in September, 1964, Professor Zhang Guoqiang is the director of emergency department in CJFH and vice chairperson of emergency medicine in the Chinese Medical Association.
 
As the academic leader of the emergency department in CJFH, the department qualified as the State Key Clinical Department under his leadership. Professor Zhang has published nearly 20 SCI journal articles, participated in the development of almost 10 clinical consensuses, presided over three research projects on the national and provincial/ministerial level including a study on the material preparation and ultrasonic imaging properties of the acoustic impedance polymer intervention catheter, of which an automatic monitoring device for cardiopulmonary resuscitation was patented by the state. In 2014, Professor Zhang won the State Organization Labor Medal, while in 2015 he was awarded the honorary title of "National Advanced Worker".
 
Wang Chuanhang
 
Born in March, 1963, Professor Wang Chuanhang is a senior doctor in the department of andrology of CJFH, deputy director of Andrology Branch in China Association of Chinese Medicine, member of the standing committee of Andrology Branch in the Chinese Medical Association, and chairperson of the professional committee of reproductive medicine in Beijing Association of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine. Engaged in clinical andrology and integrated Chinese and western medicine for 29 years, Professor Wang participated in developing disease guidelines led by the Andrology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, put forward the four research categories in andrology, presided over a National Natural Science Foundation project, and published more than 10 academic journals in the past 3 years.

Lou Yanni
 
Born in January 1982, Dr. Lou works as the secretary of integrative oncology in CJFH, and member of the standing committee of the Oncology Department in Beijing Association of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine.
 
Dr. Lou Yanni specializes in the integrated treatment with both traditional Chinese medicine and cellular immunotherapy, and has joined in the dissemination of this new technology in grass-roots hospitals as a key participant. With abundant research findings in the application of traditional Chinese medicine to external treatment of chemotherapy-related hand-foot syndrome and peripheral nerve injury, she has presided over three research projects on the national and provincial/ministerial level, won four science and technology progress awards on the provincial/ministerial level, and participated in the application of three national patents. In addition, she has published four monographs and won many first prizes in teaching contests and medical record competitions.
