CJFH Receives Visitors from University of Melbourne Medical School

On December 5, 2017, the University of Melbourne Medical School expert team visited China-Japan Friendship Hospital(CJFH) under the accompany of Vice President Wu Li of Tsinghua University School of Medicine. CJFH held symposium at the Friendship Hall of South Garden. Vice President Gao Haipeng attended the symposium and delivered a speech. Vice Director Sun Jihong of Education Department briefly introduced our hospital. The visiting experts carried out communication centering on medicine, teaching and research. The symposium was presided over by Vice Director Li Ying of Education Department. Dr. Huang Li of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)Teaching and Research Office, Deputy Director Ren Jingyi of CJFH High-rank Official Healthcare Department and teaching and management personnel from various clinical teaching and research offices participated in the symposium.

Vice President Gao Haipeng warmly welcomed the experts of University of Melbourne Medical School coming from afar and the leaders of Tsinghua University School of Medicine. Tsinghua University School of Medicine has sent students to study in University of Melbourne Medical School and the students will serve as internships in CJFH after coming back in the next year. He said: “This symposium is a good opportunity. It is especially important for our three parties to explore the educational philosophy of" physician scientists. "

Vice Director Sun Jihong of the Education Department made detailed introduction on our hospital and elaborated our hospital’s four-wheel driving developing strategy from culture, discipline, management and talents one by one. Finally, Vice Director Sun Jihong proposed that teachers in our hospital should better complete the teaching tasks of Tsinghua University School of Medicine and learn more excellent medical experience from University of Melbourne Medical School.

Professor Alex Boussioutas, Vice President of University of Melbourne Medical School (Tsinghua Experimental Class Project Leader) and Professor Steve Trumble, Clinical Teaching Subject Coordinator of University of Melbourne Medical School carried out detailed introduction on the development history of the University of Melbourne Medical School and the co-cultivation mode with Tsinghua University School of Medicine. Foreign experts said that they were very glad to visit CJFH and deeply felt that we shared a great common aspiration on hospital teaching. They hope that we would gradually complete teaching materials sharing and teacher sharing, cultivate more clinical experts to excellent teaching staff and students of University of Melbourne could learn more knowledge of TCM in the future.

Wu Li, Vice President of Tsinghua University School of Medicine, said that he hoped University of Melbourne Medical School experts could give directions on clinical teaching and provide more teacher training to promote clinical teaching cooperation. 

Experts from both sides conducted profound exchanges on teaching management issues of interest. The two sides reached a consensus that they would carry out in-depth cooperation in teaching model innovation and teacher training.

Before the symposium, the experts of University of Melbourne Medical School visited the hospital's clinical skills training center, TCM pharmacy and South Garden with the accompany of Education Department staff.
