China-Japan Friendship Hospital and Barrow Neurological Institute Co-organized the International Conference on Neuroscience

On July 11, 2017, China-Japan Friendship Hospital and Barrow Neurological Institute Co-organized the International Conference on Neuroscience co-sponsored the “2017 International Conference on Neuroscience”. The conference aimed to build a platform for international medical communication between China and the United States to promote the development of the field of neurology. It focused on stroke and cognitive topics of academic exchanges. Professor Wang Chen, president of China-Japan Friendship Hospital and academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a speech on behalf of the hospital. Experts at home and abroad at the conference gave special academic lectures. The conference was chaired by Professor Jiao Jinsong, director of Neurology. More than 100 experts and scholars from neurological field in the hospitals all over the country participated in the forum.

President Wang Chen thanked the foreign guests, experts and fellow who came to the conference and affirmed the positive significance of Sino-US academic exchange activities to promote the academic progress of the nervous system science and strengthen academic cooperation. He put forward earnest expectations and some practical development proposals on the development and construction of neurology.

Prof. Micheal Waters, Prof. Shi Jiong and Professor Peng Dantao gave special academic lectures on the conference. More than 100 neurological professionals from various hospitals in China attended the conference. The forum invited Professor Jiao Jinsong, director of neurology to preside over it.

Prof. Waters, director of Stroke Program of Dignity Health St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, Barrow Neurological Institute, gave lectures on rapid thrombolytic therapy and post-thrombolysis referral measures for acute stroke rescue vehicles, giving clinical advice and guidance on sending the right patients to the right place in the right time. Prof. Shi Jiong, director of the Alzheimer's Disease Center at the Barrow Neurological Institute, made a report on the diagnosis and treatment of cognitive impairment combined with his own clinical experience and scientific research.

Prof. Peng Dantao, made a comprehensive analysis of the diagnosis and treatment, international and domestic guidance and ongoing research projects of Alzheimer’s disease. Combined with typical and atypical Alzheimer’s disease cases, he proposed guidance and advice on clinical diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Qiao Yanan, a senior doctor of neurosurgery at CJFH, reported the diagnosis of suspected cases. Finally by the detailed medical history and physical examination of the experts combined with the previous auxiliary examination, it was considered that the infection may cause secondary unilateral cerebellum atrophy and lead to partial ataxia. Patients were suggested to conduct cerebrospinal fluid gene second generation sequencing detection.

Before the conclusion of the event, Prof. Peng Dantao made a summary of the excellent academic exchanges among the experts in the forum, praised the attitudes of the experts and listeners, and expressed gratitude to the success of the conference.

Full of academic atmosphere, this event ended with plans on future exchanges to build a Sino-US international medical exchange platform for the development of neurology.
